Possui graduação em Física - Universidad de Buenos Aires (1966) e doutorado em Física - Universidad de Buenos Aires (1970). Atualmente é professor titular da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Tem experiência na área de Física, com ênfase em Estruturas Eletrônicas e Propriedades Elétricas de Superfícies; Interf. e Partículas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: implantação iônica, difusão, fullerenos, irradiação e canalização.fotoluminiscencia. estudo do comportamento de bolhas de He implantadas em Si..Poderes de freiamento de diferentes ions em diferentes matrices. Em 2012 foi designado Professor emérito d Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. (Texto informado pelo autor)
