I am a PhD in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom, with chemical engineering background. Now I am doing postdoctoral research at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. For more than ten years, I have experienced several atmospheres in academia (at UFRJ, HWU and FUM) and industry (as a production engineer in NIOC and then a researcher in RIPI). This provided me with confidence, excellent engineering sense and communication abilities. During my PhD, I was involved in experimental and modelling of reservoir fluids properties mainly viscosity and IFT at HP/HT conditions and now at UFRJ I am more focused on different aspects of water/oil emulsions and rheology. Since both my doctorate study and postdoctoral position have been funded through Joint Industry Projects (JIPs), I had the opportunity to report regularly to the sponsors on progress and I could develop excellent presentation skills and a full understanding of successful project delivery and fulfilling the requests of the investigators. I could publish my research results in several peer-reviewed journals, conferences and technical reports. (Texto informado pelo autor)

Engaged in different projects and activities, mainly on various aspects of water-oil emulsions: - Design of experiments. - Installation of equipments. - Characterization of emulsions (including various range of measurements). - Conductivity measurements of crude oils. - Investigation of phase inversion in emulsions. - Electro-coalescence experiments at bench and pilot plant scales (the pilot plant is equipped with emulsion maker, electrocoalescer cell and continuous microwave heating reactor). - Experimental study on the adsorption of carbon dioxide in polymers and in particular various o-rings performing with a Rubotherm magnetic suspension balance (MSB) equipment. - Helping PhD and master students in their projects. - Preparation of monthly status reports and technical reports on progress.

Responsibilities included planning and coordination of production operations for Darquain oilfield; experiences included: - Coordinate numbers of well test and wire line operations for the mentioned oilfield. - Coordination of well workover operations like fishing and asphaltene removal using coiled-tubing. - Being the representative for the well drilling operations. - Working in partnership with process engineers as part of the oil treatment unit overhaul. - Monitoring the properties of produced oil like GOR, salinity, H2S and water content as well as tackling the process problems like carry over and corrosion. - Simulation of the oil treatment unit (OTU) using HYSYS to evaluate the optimum production rate. - Simulation and sizing the oil transportation pipeline from OTU to Abadan refinery and investigating the different scenarios.

In addition to organising and helping other members of the group in their projects I was involved in the activities related to the process and pipeline simulation as mentioned below: - Simulation of Khangiran gas treating units for various cooling scenarios using HYSYS and Aspen. - Simulation of Mozdouran gas reservoir pipeline to estimate the flow regime in different weather and pipeline situation using PIPESYS software.
